Re: Part of a motorway bridge into has collapsed leaving at least one dead, two people trapped under the rubble and seven injured, with at least one being seriously injured in Patras, Greece.
The bridge is being repaired since 2021 after having suffered structural problems.
The motorway known as Olympia Odos had been shut for traffic due to planned demolition work.

The bridge is being repaired since 2021 after having suffered structural problems.
The motorway known as Olympia Odos had been shut for traffic due to planned demolition work.
An unnamed eye witness said: "I was there with others collecting scrap metal and the bridge fell on us."
Local reports suggest that a group of Romani people were either collecting scrap metal from underneath the bridge or sheltering from the heat.
