Re: A cop who won bravery awards had his career ruined when a woman he met through a dating website falsely claimed he had raped her.
PC Paul Morgan, 52, suffered the indignity of being arrested by his own colleagues and held in a cell overnight after the allegation by Samantha Murray-Evans, 45, a woman he met through the Plenty of Fish website.
Lengthy investigations followed adding to the PC’s stress until it was eventually decided that Murray-Evans, who told PC Morgan she was a college lecturer and actress, had been lying.
She is pleading guilty to perverting the course of justice when she appears at Swansea Crown Court this Friday. (October 13th).
