Re: Riot police called to break up a protest by local residents against a Canadian-run goldmine in Skouries, in the Chalkidiki area. Eldorado firm has been accused of dumping toxic waste generated during gold processing in northern Greece, into local rivers. Teargas was used by the police to disperse the protesters who retaliated with pyrotechnics.
