The body was found at first light, close to the city's Civic Centre and Marriott Hotel.
Police officers are on site beginning their investigation on the beach. They have yet to reveal if the individual is a male or a female.
Part of the pavement above the beach is cordoned off.

No-one has been reported by police as missing in the Swansea area recently, as far as the Evening Post is aware.
