A special tank with water was installed, in which the athlete went in just before 9 pm. Before commencing in his attempt, he prepared for 20 minutes, in which he gradually inhaled pure oxygen. Around 21:15, after he completed the necessary stage of meditation, Chronis Chlitsios dived into the tank.
The previous record stood at 11 minutes and 35 seconds. « less
