Re: A drag artist has been branded a “thoroughly dishonest individual” after conning a woman out of her car.
Lee Carl Dale - formerly known professionally as Leslie Lush - agreed to buy a Mini from a woman on Facebook for £1,400, with the seller driving to south Wales to hand it over.
But Swansea Crown Court heard the purchase was “fraudulent from the outset” as 33-year-old Dale’s bank account was £400 overdrawn at the time, and he had no money to complete the transaction.
The court heard Dale transferred £100 to his victim to cover the cost of delivery, and said the rest of the money would be transferred later that day - even claiming to be chatting to his bank on the phone to clear the payments during the hand-over. « less
