Re: The iconic black leather jacket worn by Patrick Swayze in the hit film Dirty Dancing has sold for $50,000 (£38,612) at auction.
It was bought by a fan after the tragic actor's wife decided to sell his movie memorabilia.
The jacket had a reserve of just $6,000(£4,630) at the auction in Los Angeles but an internet bid of $25,000(£19,300) was received before the auction started.
The salesroom erupted with applause when the hammer came down at $50,000.
Auctioneer Darren Julien said: "We always knew it would fetch big bucks.
"The jacket is the holy grail for Patrick Swayze fans and there are a lot out there."
The heart throb actor wore the James Dean-style jacket throughout Dirty Dancing including the scene where he says: "Nobody puts Baby in a corner".
The jacket belonged to Swayze before the movie was made in 1987.
Dirty Dancing was a low-budget movie and most of the clothes Swayze's wore were his own, including the leather jacket.
Mr Julien said: "Because it was his jacket he got to keep it after the movie and wore it whenever he felt like it. « less
