Re: A wooden sculpture of the Virgin Mary has traveled alongside the river Wye in a demonstration calling for a halt to the pollution of the river in England and Wales, UK.<br />
The wooden sculpture started its voyage in Hay-on-Wye and finished at the village of Moccas.<br />
The four-foot-tall sculpture of the Virgin Mary, dubbed as ‘Our lady of the waters, travelled through Bredwardine and ended at the St Michael and All Angels, a unique Grade I listed Norman church in the village of Moccas where monks from Belmond Abbey, a Benedict Monastery in Hereford joined locals to chant accompanied with the church's organ.<br />
The sculpture was created by sculptor, Philip Chatfield, who last paddled the figure across the river for five days.
