The victim is also repeatedly punched in the attack, which goes on for several minutes, and stabbed in the mouth with a vodka bottle.
Edwards, 44, of Priory Street, Carmarthen , has now been sentenced to nine years in prison after the “savage” stabbing in the town centre.
He was jailed at Swansea Crown Court after pleading guilty to wounding with intent and two counts of possession of a weapon.
