RRe: Every month heartbroken widower, Franco Gorno travels to a bus shelter in Neath outside Victoria Gardens to place flowers at the spot where he first met Joan 64 years ago.
His story came to light after Neath man Simon Watkins found the bouquet of flowers and an emotional note left at the bus shelter.
The note, which was not signed, said: "Joan, my beloved, passed away on 09/03/2013 and broke my heart for ever! Rest in peace my darling.
"I'll see you soon, I'll be 87 soon so I will not be long...God bless."
Thousands of people shared and liked the story on the Evening Post's Facebook page, which led to Franco's granddaughter Katie Stewart to contact the Post and reveal who the mystery couple are.
Ms Stewart, who is originally from Neath, but now lives in Ystradgynlais, said one of her friends posted the story on Facebook.
"It is very touching," she said. "He is very sentimental.
"He also came down at Christmas and spoke to a gentleman in a cafe near the park.
"He just says that spot is sentimental to him.
