Re: Melissa Jenkins Johanson who drove down a footpath at The Parrog, west Wales thinking it was a road while she was intoxicated and later told police her dog had been driving the car, has been sentenced by Swansea Crown Court, Wales, UK. <br />
Johanson, 47, attempted to reverse out of the car park at Ocean Cafe Bar and Restaurant beside in Fishguard four times before a man noticed her drunken state and phoned the police.<br />
Judge Rees sentenced the defendant to 12 months, suspended for 18 months. She must complete a 15-day rehabilitation course, 150 hours of unpaid work and ensure she visits Swansea Crown each month before a judge to monitor her progress with regard to alcohol consumption. She is also disqualified from driving for three years.
