Re: A couple who posed for wedding photographs on railway tracks in North Yorkshire have been condemned by Network Rail.<br />
They were seen on CCTV standing on a line near Whitby in July 2020.<br />
More than 5,000 trespassing incidents were recorded between June and September, some of which involved people using the railways as a backdrop for photographs.<br />
Network Rail said taking selfies and photo shoots was "plain stupidity".<br />
In September alone, 1,239 incidents were recorded, a 17% rise.
