Re: An 11 year old boy has been shot dead by a "stray bullet" during a school celebration in Acharnes (Menidi) area, in the outskirts of Athens, Greece.<br />
Marios Dimitrios Souloukos "complained to his mum" who works as a teacher at the 6th Primary School of Acharnes that he was feeling unwell, he then collapsed with blood pouring out from the top of his head.<br />
His mum tried to revive him assisted by other teachers while his schoolmates who were reportedly upset, were hurriedly removed by their parents.<br />
According to locals an ambulance arrived 25 minutes late.<br />
Hundreds of police officers have been deployed in the area and have raided many properties.<br />
Shells matching the fatal bullet which hit the boy on the top of his head were found in a house yard nearby.<br />
Local people reported hearing shots being fired at a nearby Romany Gypsy camp before the fatal incident.<br />
The area has been plagued with criminality during the last few years.
