Hughes who was known as Sky Steve because of his work for the satellite broadcaster was the trusted lieutenant of Port Talbot scaffolder Daniel Baker who was running the business.
It is believed that the were responsible for shipping around nine kilos of the Class A drugs to communities across the south Wales valleys, to Bridgend and Cardiff in a conspiracy worth more than £1m.
They were jailed last year for a total of 20 years but the case returned to Swansea Crown Court this week for a Proceeds of Crime Act hearing where the authorities try to claw back criminals ill-gotten gains.
